SEO: can search engines find your site?
Seryvon's SEO pillar reviews the technical and editorial signals extracted from a crawl. It helps developers and content teams identify pages worth investigating, from missing titles to weak internal linking. A passing audit check is evidence about the inspected website, not proof that a search engine has indexed or ranked it.
Typical findings
The SEO scoring rules inspect title and description presence and length, canonical format, meta robots directives, heading structure, content depth, structured data and internal links. Other checks examine title uniqueness across crawled pages, image alternative-text coverage and pages without incoming links in the collected link graph.
These checks have precise boundaries. The canonical rule accepts an absolute HTTP or HTTPS URL; it does not establish that Google selected that canonical or that the destination is the right equivalent page. The meta robots check looks for noindex. Its result is not a complete assessment of every possible indexing restriction.
A workflow for a newly published guide
- Include the guide and the pages intended to link to it in the crawl. Record the scope so an incomplete link graph does not look like a site-wide diagnosis.
- Inspect the affected URL behind each finding. Confirm that the title describes the actual guide and that the canonical points to the intended public version.
- Check the heading sequence and put the main explanation in readable page content. Add contextual links from relevant existing pages where they help readers.
- Run the same scope again after publication. Compare the extracted evidence, then use separate search-engine observations to investigate indexing or traffic.
For example, a guide reachable only through a search box may appear unlinked within the crawl. A relevant link from its topic overview can improve discoverability for readers and crawlers. Before calling it an orphan, check whether navigation, crawl limits or excluded routes prevented the audit from seeing its incoming links.
Use thresholds as review prompts
The source uses default title and description length ranges and a configurable content-depth target. The default depth target is 800 words. That number is a scoring convention, not a requirement to extend every page to 800 words. A concise status page and a detailed implementation guide have different jobs. Add material only when it answers a real question.
Likewise, alternative-text coverage measures the presence of attributes rather than the accuracy of descriptions. Review image purpose manually. A detected structured-data type does not establish that every property is valid, that the markup matches the visible text or that a rich result will appear.
Who needs it
This pillar is useful for technical marketers reviewing templates, developers investigating crawler-visible HTML and editors checking a newly expanded section. Pair it with GEO when JavaScript changes how much text is initially available, or AEO when a page is accessible but its answer is difficult to extract.
